Sander Tans Stochasticity and homeostasis in cellular growth

The next biophysical seminar will take place Friday, July 17th in confIV at 1:00pm (22 rue Lhomond, 2nd floor)

In this talk, I will mainly report on our efforts to understand the dynamics of cellular growth. Here, we use time-lapse microscopy, fluorescent labelling, and microfluidics to study the role of stochastic variability in the growth and replicative cycle of E. coli cells. If time allows, I will also talk about a recent study on the role of environmental variability in evolutionary constraints.
