The transcription profiles of 54 genes, the expression of which changed significantly in both SEY (cluster on the left) and FY (cluster on the right) following the loss of mtDNA (first column), were arranged according to their PDR3 dependence (second column). The blue dots indicate PDRE elements in the corresponding promoters. (A): genes whose activation is dependent on PDR3. (B): genes whose activation is dependent on PDR3 in either FY or SEY background. (C): genes whose activation is independent on PDR3. All of the information for YPD [22] is mentioned. Changes in expression are indicated by a coloured bar on the bottom right corner. The corresponding values are given in supplemental data table 1.
