The PDRE is important but not sufficient for Pdr1 DNA binding

(A) Global distribution of the median log2(enrichment) values of all yeast DNA sequences from four Pdr1p-myc ChIP-chip experiments in cells treated with fluphenazine for 10 minutes. (B) Distribution of the log2(enrichment) values of the DNA sequences containing at least one Pdr1p binding element (PDRE: TCC(G/A)(C/T)G(G/C)(A/G)). Most of the DNA sequences containing PDRE show little or no enrichment. (C) All yeast DNA sequences were ranked into 100 classes on the basis of enrichment ratio (Lieb, Liu et al. 2001). The graph shows the percentage of DNA sequences containing a PDRE in each class. The classes with high enrichment factors are clearly enriched in PDRE.
